    The Usage of 4-Ethylcaprylic acid

    1.4-ethyl caprylic acid is a colorless to yellowish liquid with the molecular formula C10H20O2 and molecular weight Mr172.27. Its boiling point is 110℃/133.32Pa, flash point is 122℃, relative density is 0.903, refractive index is 1.434. 4-ethyl caprylic acid is slightly soluble in water, soluble in hexane, and the main component content of the commercially available products is 99%. This compound has a strong flavor of sheep food, so it is widely used in nut flavors, especially in the preparation of lamb flavor plays an important role. It is found in boiled lamb, roast lamb, sheep fat, goat cheese, sheep cheese, Virginia tobacco, and is one of the key ingredients in the characteristic flavor of these foods.
